What were you trying to do?

View favicons next to the username on the timeline

What did you expect to happen?

All icons display

What actually happened?

The standard Misskey logo/favicon displays for instances using it, but instances using custom icons are not.

I was thinking maybe it could be a size issue? Or maybe it's because the Misskey icons are input with an image URL in the admin UI, rather than directly uploaded? Here is the image I used for stoner.town that isn't displaying - https://i.imgur.com/fAd1cWU.png

i run develop but there shouldn't be any changes to the favicon handling -- take this with a grain of salt though

i can't reproduce:

i think your instance just has the old url cached, or something along those lines, and since the default misskey favicon doesn't exist anymore it's empty

just a hunch however

Super late reply, sorry! I had just gotten the instance up a couple days before posting this and stoner.town's displays now, but others that have been more recently followed do not. Not sure if it's just a delay in syncing up the instance data upon discovery, but with it having appeared randomly since posting I am thinking that's the case.

favicons will be fetched when a post from that instance is sent to you, so yes there will be a delay

Thank you! I decided to try restarting the Akkoma service because it'd been a few days of receiving posts from one of them, that was the trick to get it to sync back up.
