The idea

Add the status notification type for notifications from people whose posts one has subscribed to, like Mastodon does.

The reasoning

Currently, notifications caused by a subscription are given the type mention, which can be misleading as many clients render these with text like "x has mentioned you". This can cause confusion since it can make subscribers think a post is addressed to them when it isn't. This was previously discussed on pleroma years ago, but that discussion died down without anything happening. Now Mastodon has used the status notification type for two years, and clients are supporting it, too.

I have double-checked and have not found this feature request mentioned anywhere.
This feature is related to the Akkoma backend specifically, and not pleroma-fe.

I was the one that originally made subscriptions a thing many years ago in pleroma, of course masto takes that and changes the format that's just peak masto
