It would be nice to have something like dated release tags indicating that Akkoma is in a usable state and admins are ok to update.

Or is that what the releases and release-only branches are for? 🤔

ah i'm planning for the first stable release within the week, those will be actually versioned tags and such

official post tomorrow, but you can update with --branch stable now to switch onto it

assuming you didn't set any :primary value in your local config or in adminFE, likely all you needed to do was run pleroma_ctl frontend install pleroma-fe - when moving to the stable branch the default ref changed which may have caused lookup to fail
