I'm a big fan of the new 3 column layout but I use a X200 Thinkpad and I'm currently unable to use it at 100% zoom. I'm currently using Akkoma using 90% zoom in my browser so I can use the third column.
It seems like the 3 column layout is allowed at exactly 1300px width, which is only 20 pixels more than the width of my screen.
I think that the 3 column layout can work on 1280px, as some space is used for margin and padding on the sides of the screen. I'm sure a lot of other users will benefit from this as well, since 1280px width is a very common screen resolution (1280x720, 1280x800, 1280x1024).
